WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
FUTURE YOUNG LEADERS OF AMERICA
FYLA is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in Orange County in 2014. With the intention of completing good deeds on a daily basis, FYLA pursues the mission of working in absolute cooperation to make the world a better place. Our activities range from cleaning parks and beaches to hosting garage sales to tutoring those struggling academically to recycling plastic bottles and other goods. FYLA also works with our service partners, such as Heart of Africa(HOA) and Benetones.
With FYLA growing day by day, the core members of our group work around the clock to ensure that we make a difference. The following are those who have put all their effort and time into expanding FYLA.

TUTORING
We provided tutoring help for homework for around 100 elementary students on various subjects, mostly specializing in English and Math. We want to provide assistance and education to younger students from mostly low-income families. Most students are from families in which English is not the primary language, thus requiring homework assistance. In addition to tutoring, we hope to encourage a lifelong passion for learning. We tutor in various community centers located in Fullerton, Placentia, and Brea.
HELP HOMELESS
Southern California, like many major metropolitan areas, struggles with homelessness, including the suburban areas of Fullerton, Buena Park and Santa Ana where homelessness is widely prevalent. FYLA recognizes the need in our communities for active involvement among the youth and strives to provide meaningful avenues through which students can participate. FYLA believes that the youth should be taught to embrace the needy in the community and be socially responsive. Our FYLA members contribute personal funds, organize fundraisers, make food purchases, and distribute at local centers. They also regularly visit orphanages to give performances and offer companionship. Additionally, on a quarter-annual basis, members prepare hygiene packages for the homeless. FYLA members find great pride in their work and believe that the biggest contribution to our community is to physically do the work of providing assistance.
ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
We're not just about helping individual members of society, we also prioritize working towards a better community. Such efforts include regular cleaning of parks and beaches throughout Orange County.
SPECIAL EVENTS
FYLA holds special fundraising events in an effort to provide financial support when disaster strikes communities, such as victims of hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis. We have raised over twenty-two hundred dollars to aid the families of the victims of Se-Wol Ho, the South Korea ship in which over three hundred young Korean students were killed. We've also written over three hundred condolence letters to support those emotionally struggling.
THE ANGEL TREE
The Angel Tree Program was established in order to provide Christmas gifts to orphans and homeless children.
